Every August we celebrate how we love our national language. Each of us has a way on how to show it and I know that in every school, from elementary to college, celebrates a program for this.
I was proud for the success of Linggo ng Wika celebration at our beloved campus, Cavite State University-Indang with the year's theme, "Filipino: Wika ng Pambansang Kaunlaran." The said event has different competitions such as Sayaw ng Lahi, Parada ng Lahi, Isahang Pag-awit, Balagtasan, Larong Pinoy, Pagkuha ng Larawan, and the much awaited Lakan at Lakambini ng Wika.
I am personally late when I arrived at school but I noticed colorful wings in purple and pink. I got amazed and I saw how each of the students do their efforts in preparing for the said competition. All of them do their best but Paru-paro festival stands out.
I also watched some of th performances of the contestants in Sayaw ng Lahi. The breath taking skills of AB Journalism 2-2 got the top stop and they're actually my bet.
I don't have much time to watch Lakan at Lakambini ng Wika because of personal reasons but I can say that students of CvSU have the looks, talent, and brain. I'm just bothered when I knew that some of the participants of Lakan are gays. Why oh why? I also heard some students saying that the declared winner do not worth it but in my mind I know that they deserve because they do their part.
I want to acknowledge the supportive professors because behind every performances there's people who were willing to give their time and effort to help the student. Thank you Sir and Ma'am.
Overall, the Linggo ng Wika celebration entertains me a lot. I felt happy for the winners and it makes me realized that no matter how far and what achievements we received, the best title we can be proud of is being a Filipino, a Cavitenio, a Cavsuenio.
