Prologue

This happened months ago when our professor in Online Journalism required us to take our own Selfie Balita. At first I said, “Oh My G! It’s gonna be fun,” but it’s more challenging than what I expected.

Choosing my Topic

My mind was full of ideas that time. But I can associate it to each other. Days passed, deadline was near and I don’t have a topic yet. I’m so dead. Until one of my classmate said, “Traffic pa rin sa Naic Shayne, Di pa gawa yung tulay.” Suddenly the bulb on my mind lightened. Ting! Yun na oh! 

 

Planning Stage

Before I write or do such requirement in school, I always draft an outline. I wrote the questions that I will ask to some tricycle drivers, passengers, construction workers, and residents there. I also picked what kind of clothes I will be wearing because as far as I know we should be presentable in that situation. I also texted my cousin to be with me and to help me in finding a good angle for the video.

 

On the Way to Naic

I woke up early that day. I’m ready to go and cover that news for my Online Journalism subject. Everything was ready, my new phone, my pen and paper, my bag. I am just waiting to my father because he is the one that will drive for us. Unfortunately, he texted me that he was not able to do that for us because of the call of his job. OMG! This can’t be. My mother was not in our house and I don’t have enough money to go to Naic. Solution comes. Ting! I texted my special friend to drive for us. He agreed and I was like, “Woo.. What a relief.”

 

Naic At the Moment

Minutes passed until we reached Naic. Yes! This is it! I brought my Press I.D. to make it formal and I started to interview some construction workers, and residents. I even blocked some of the passengers. Tricycle drivers that time were drinking alcohol. How can I get information to them? I became scared. Despite of the fear, I continued asking them some questions. That’s the reason why they are not been part of my video report. After the interview, I started to write the news that I will report and as In finished it, me and my cousin began to take the video report. My cousin was the one who finds a better angle for the news. Because it is a highway, we have a difficult time to move from place to another. We finished videoing hours later.

 

Video Editing

I consulted my friend to help me in editing the video. When I saw the videos, it is rotated. OMG! This can’t be. I was so tired that time and because of the videos, I assumed that I will go to Naic again to take new videos. WHY?! Huhu. Big thanks to Video Rotator Online. You’re a gift from heaven. My friend edited my videos, combined them together and made the videos clearer.

 

Food Trip and Road Trip

Because my friends do a favor for me, I treated them in the nearby 7/11 store (para tipid, Haha). I went back home and fortunately, my mother was there and give me some money. After eating, we went to Ternate Beach Resort. It was sunset that time and we watched it together.
